Perfectly situated between Pipers Lagoon and Neck Point, this well maintained ocean view home tastefully combines modern updates with retro 1970's charisma. As you pass through the leaded glass double entry doors, the central staircase invites you up to the main living level where expansive water views across Shack Island and towards the Sunshine Coast are captured through the thermal picture windows. To further enjoy the scenic beauty there's also a wraparound deck with unobstructed frameless safety glass railings to take it all in from. The updated white shaker cabinet kitchen with stainless steel appliances plays nicely against the warmth of the maple hardwood floors and earth tone colour scheme. The bathrooms as well were treated to similarly upgraded fixtures and decor. As a testament to the craftsmanship of the era, the original mirrored arch brickwork hearth towers in the living room from floor to vaulted ceiling...a true masterpiece to behold. The accompanying heatilator fireplaces, and a new natural gas Carrier Infinity series forced air system with air conditioning keeps things cool and cozy year round. Downstairs you'll find a hip built-in wet bar, in-house workshop, and loads of room for storage and hosting guests; an Airbnb perhaps? Outside is equally as impressive showcasing over 12,000 square feet of terraced yard made private by mature laurel and cedar hedges, and garden maintenance made easy with a 6 zone irrigation system. A quaint hand built wooden garden shed, alligator pond water feature, and a hot tub to soak up the ocean scenery in caps things off. There's even 45 feet worth of dedicated RV parking, plus plenty of extra space for your boat, cars, and other big boy toys. With a premier Hammond Bay location and timeless quality throughout, this move is sure to be the right move. All data is approximate and to be verified independently. About
My family immigrated to Lantzville in the 1880s and I was born in the Old Hospital on Machleary Street in Nanaimo in the 1960s. I grew up in Nanaimo on Departure Bay Road–right across from Rock City School. My father worked at the Biological Station and every landmark brings back memories of a lifetime lived in the same area.
Licensed as a Realtor in 1993, I have been fortunate to be selling real estate and homes in and around the central island area for more than 20 years. Google Earth is amazing, and you feel like you can know a place pretty quickly, but nothing beats having footprints in all the corners. I’ve hiked the local mountains, swam in all the lakes and driven every road. I went to school here, had my first job here, and my dad taught me to drive here. I even remember going through the old A&W (now a Speedy Muffler).
I embrace integrity as the guiding principal to every decision I make. Quite possibly the most important aspect of my relationship with you is our communication. Clear, honest, timely, and accurate communication. As we work together, our relationship will evolve and change, but it’s important that the core value of mutual respect and appreciation for each other’s point of view will always remain.
My mission is simple: to promise a lot and deliver more. How do I do that? By communicating clearly, listening to my clients’ needs, providing remarkable service to clients while keeping in mind my guiding principles, and fairly representing my clients in the attainment of their real estate goals.
To put it simply, I never forget that I am working for you. I hold integrity, strength, honour, family, perseverance, patience, knowledge and balance as key aspects of my life, and apply those values to every part of my work as a real estate agent.
